the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) in 2002. Sales in 2013 were around 470,000 vehicles globally, 14.38% growth over 2012. Operating income in 2013 was 52.9 billion RMB (approximately €8.5 billion), 12.83% growth over 2012. The company has grown into a multinational corporation with nearly 170,000 employees worldwide as of March, 2014. It is based in China and has subsidiary offices in the United States, the Netherlands, Denmark, Hungary, Finland, Russia, Egypt, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, India, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. BYD Auto has focused on the research, development, and manufacture of a wide range of world-class products, such as electric vehicles (EVs).
